About four years ago I decided I wanted to get into Advertising. A little over a year after that I realized how being a copywriter in Advertising could one of the best jobs I could think of. Over the past few years, I have trained myself to watch ads closely, whether they be tv commercials, billboards, magazine print ads, online ads, or any other kind. One of the reasons I thought I might be ok at Advertising is because I would watch or see one of these ads and think to myself, "If I were to have made that ad, I would have done it this way..."
It's hard to be in Advertising and think about how people who don't care about Advertising will view an ad. When making an ad, you always have to keep in mind who your target audience is. Sometimes I think that some ads are made without the creator remembering who it is for. On the other hand some ads seem to be created perfectly for the audience they are meant for.
So for this blog, I want to take a look at ads, break them apart, think about ways that I would have created them, and basically just judge them - hoping that I don't offend anybody in the industry. Then one day, when I get a job in the Advertising industry, and am actually creating ads, I can look back and see if everything I said on here is completely wrong. All right, here we go!
